Solar Water Heaters are most suitable for domestic & Commercial applications as it operates on the principle of Thermo – Siphon process. i.e. The water is heated passively by solar energy and relies on heat energy being transferred from the sun to a solar collector. The water gets stored in a tank above the collector by natural convection.

ETC Solar Water Heaters

It is a natural process in which Solar energy is absorbed by the black coating on the outside of the inner tube & the same is transferred to the water inside the tube. Water on the upper side of the vacuum tube becomes hot & lighter in weight & it starts rising up into the tank. At the same time, heavier cold water from the tank comes downward from lower side of the tube. This cycle repeats till all the water is heated so long as solar radiation is available.

FPC Solar Water Heaters

Black chrome selectively coated copper absorber plates and copper riser tubes are used in this system to heat the water. The plates absorb heat from the sun and transfer it to the copper pipes containing water thus bringing a rise in the temperature of the water. In order to preserve the heat energy and to prevent the heat from reflecting back, low iron tempered glass with high transmittance and low reflectance are used.
